IMG_9303.JPG That's me, with the depths behind me. Here we go!
IMG_9308.JPG Most of the one-mile walk looks just like this, a narrow, curving, rapidly descending sidewalk embedded in one massive rock.
IMG_9318.JPG Looking back behind us, the last of the daylight. They do have light bulbs stationed carefully throughout the cave. As you'll see once we get to the Big Room they're placed quite well.
IMG_9322.JPG We're still only about ten minutes into the walk, but you can begin to see the cave's natural beauty.

IMG_9323.JPG A nice, flat area of the walkway.
IMG_9326.JPG A small pond inside the cave.
IMG_9331.JPG Look at Alysa, bravely conquering the walk into darkness!
IMG_9341.JPG Another interesting pattern.

IMG_9347.JPG I had to duck to get under this part of the rock.
IMG_9351.JPG It goes deeper and deeper. On the left is an emergency phone.
IMG_9354.JPG Alysa, claustrophobic? Never! Obviously there's no option other than the flash for taking photos here.
IMG_9361.JPG A liquidy-looking rock, a stalagmite to be specific (coming up from the floor).

IMG_9370.JPG Alysa looking out upon the cave. We've been walking about 25 minutes at this point, so perhaps halfway to the Big Room.
IMG_9376.JPG It's really something how they placed the walkway amonst the formations.
IMG_9383.JPG Phew!
IMG_9389.JPG That's me in a cave! The flash makes my hair look rather odd doesn't it?

IMG_9394.JPG And here we begin to see the large expanse that becomes the Big Room. They've placed lights perfectly, so you see the rock in somewhat natural colors without actually seeing the lights themselves.
IMG_9397.JPG Don't look down!
IMG_9415.JPG Believe it or not, this is inside the men's room. The build things down here without distrupting the cave - the cave was here long before the stall.
IMG_9416.JPG Endlessly complex structure.
