IMG_8013.JPG Just outside the aquarium is the New Orleans Holocost Memorial, and outdoor piece that is really quite beautiful and interesting. The centerpiece is a set of several multicolored columns seen in the center of the photo.

IMG_8017.JPG As you walk around the memorial, differerent images appear...

IMG_8021.JPG The seven images designed into the memorial, and descriptions. I'm not sure how readable this will be in the online photo.
IMG_8032.JPG From a distance. A large circular area surrounding the colored columns is part of the memorial, marking locations where one can stand to see the images from their proper angle.

IMG_4560.JPG The Natchez, our riverboat for the evening.
IMG_4562.JPG Looking down into the big paddle wheel from the deck of the boat. This is a true steam-powered riverboat, the fifth or sixth to carry the Natches name.

IMG_4570.JPG A nice (and very large) building seen from the Mississippi River. This building contains shopping and several restaurants, including the one seen earlier with Alysa's mint julep.
IMG_4574.JPG New Orleans from the river. The skies were dark this evening, but the rain stayed away.
IMG_4581.JPG The port of New Orleans is very busy, with many large ships like this going in and out of the area throughout our stay. (This one appears to be anchored at the moment.)
IMG_4585.JPG The famous jazz band "The Dukes of Dixieland." Well, it's somewhat of a decendent of the famous band of the same name that performs nightly on the Natchez. They are very good.
