A few folks back home will enjoy this story. We're driving on a country road towards a spot to view bald eagles. Out of the corner of my eye I spot some sort of animal, and mention that to Alysa. She looks over and yells "Donkeys!!!" Our friends will know why we just had to turn around, stop, and spend some quality time with our new friends.

Also on Jordan Lake, a bit north of our campground, was a two-thirds-mile trail through the woods and a "wildlife observation deck." Turns out Jordan Lake is a great spot to see bald eagles. This is a view southward.

Within a few minutes we saw an eagle. It was quite high in the sky; thank goodness for zoom lenses.

Another "moe" sighting, this time Moe's Southwest Grill. Funny thing the guy behind the counter was very familiar with the band "moe." from before he worked here. The food was good, and turns out this is a chain with a store in Shrewsbury, MA, not far from home.

Shelley Lake, another of Alysa's old hangouts. This lake has a 2.25-mile walkway around its shores, and is home to many ducks, geese, and turtles.

Mitch roasting hot dogs. This wood, purchased from the campground, just wouldn't burn. But with the right mix of kindling and luck we were successful at making dinner.
