Entering a tunnel to the Virginia Beach area. Prior to entering the tunnel, we had to pull off the road to show a security-type person that our propane tanks were closed.

Entrance to our RV park in Virginia Beach (the "Holiday Trav-L Park"). They've got a sense of humor, such as the WHOA instead of STOP sign.

Naomi and Alysa in Naomi's new kitchen. Naomi's house was completely renovated due to mold from a water leak. This photo taken a few days before she moved back in. The "new" house is beautiful!

The beach at Virginia Beach, where we spent a relaxing afternoon. The RV park had a parking lot by the beach reserved for its guests, which was a nice bonus.

Looking up from the beach. A very nice day!

Near us on the beach, what I'm guessing was the public works department was spraying this black sandy gunk into the water. I'm guessing this was some sort of cleaning procedure prior to Memorial Day.

Mitch's shadow on the beach. A self-portrait I suppose.

At the beach were rentals of these bicycle-buggy things.

For Mom - license plate of an obvious Pittsburgh fan.

Sign at Virginia Beach. Obviously everyone here is very well behaved!

A nice photo from a restaurant on the water. We ended up not eating here though; too fishy for Mitch!

"Moe's Music" store. A little humor for those in the know (we're fans of a band called "moe.")

Alysa, Naomi and I ate at this tex-mex restaurant, with tacky exterior such as this light-up fake palm tree. The food was great though, including a creamy horseradish (?) dipping sauce for the chips.

Our campground was right under (and we mean UNDER) the flight path of a Navy jet training area. This bumper sticker was common in the area, apparently as a way of showing appreciation to the Navy. The story goes that prior to 9/11/01 residents were complaininig about the noise, but that turned around afterwards.

We attended the birthday party of one of Naomi's friends. The party was held at the home of someone who apparently likes chickens. This is atop the refrigerator. We thought Alysa's Mom would enjoy this one.

Some odd decor at the campground.
