Instead of a tour, we got a 30-minute lecture - right in the courtroom. Right here is where all Supreme Court cases are heard. Impressive to sit there. Sometime I'll have to come back when they're in session and sit in on a hearing.

One floor beneat the courtroom is this statue of John Marshall. Apparently lawyers rub his right foot for good luck before speaking in court.

And here is the lucky right foot.

Erica, a random woman I took some photos of (at her request). She's currently living in DC but moving back to L.A. soon, and taking some photos before leaving. She asked me to take a photo with her camera but only had one shot left, so I took that and then a few on my camera and gave her my email address.

Next door to the Supreme Court is the Library of Congress, which we toured next.

We were very impressed with the architecture and artwork inside the Library of Congress. It's clearly one of the nicest buildings in Washington.

Below is the original "library rooms," where anyone can go and do research on just about anything. Above are many statues and excellent artwork.

After the Library of Congress, we were hungry. The Il Radicchio on Pennsylvania Avenue was recommended by an employee of the Library.

Inside the Il Radiccio. They have a great idea for pasta, which I'm surprised hasn't caught on elsewhere. For a low price ($6.95?) you get unlimited spaghetti. You buy the sauce separately - they have 12-15 varieties from the tame to the unique. Unfortunately I don't remember what I had (some sort of alfredo-like sauce) but it was delicious.

Looking across the pool towards the Washington Monument in the distance. The large tent is set up for a World War II memorial, which will be Memorial Day weekend.
